Education Program Goal

To increase mental health literacy, reduce stigma, and prevent substance use by providing age-appropriate education, practical coping skills, and access to community resources for youth, parents, and caregivers.

Program Goals Goal 1: Increase Mental Health Awareness Educate participants on common mental health conditions, early warning signs, and the importance of emotional well-being.

Outcomes:

At least 80% of participants will demonstrate increased understanding of mental health topics based on pre- and post-program assessments. Participants will be able to identify at least three signs of emotional distress in themselves or others.

Goal 2: Prevent Substance Use and Misuse Provide evidence-informed education on substance use prevention, risk factors, and protective behaviors.

Outcomes:

75% of youth participants will report increased knowledge of the risks associated with substance use. Participants will identify healthy alternatives to substance use for managing stress and peer pressure.

Goal 3: Build Coping and Resilience Skills Teach practical coping strategies to help participants manage stress, anxiety, and emotional challenges.

Outcomes:

70% of participants will demonstrate improved coping skills, such as emotional regulation techniques. Youth participants will identify at least two healthy coping strategies they can use in challenging situations.

Goal 4: Strengthen Family and Caregiver Engagement Empower parents and caregivers with tools to support youth mental health and substance use prevention.

Outcomes:

85% of parents and caregivers will report increased knowledge of how to support a child’s mental health. Improved family communication about mental health and substance use topics.

Goal 5: Improve Access to Community Resources Connect participants to local mental health and substance use support services.

Outcomes:

100% of participants will receive information on local mental health and substance use.
